Investor Sam is a free stock analysis platform that gives individual investors access to the same financial data used by professional analysts and fund managers. We pull data directly from the SEC EDGAR database — the official US Securities and Exchange Commission filing system — and present it in a clean, easy-to-understand format.

You can analyze any of the 8,000+ publicly traded US companies on our platform without paying a subscription fee, creating an account, or downloading any software. Just type a ticker symbol and start reading.

We believe that the quality of financial research you can do should not depend on whether you can afford a Bloomberg Terminal ($24,000/year) or a FactSet subscription ($12,000/year).

SEC EDGAR data is public information — taxpayer-funded infrastructure that every American has a right to access. We just make it easier to read and understand.

All financial statement data comes directly from SEC EDGAR. We do not manufacture, estimate, or adjust reported figures. Data is updated after companies file their official 10-K (annual report) and 10-Q (quarterly report) documents with the SEC. There may be a delay of several days to weeks between a company filing and our data reflecting it.
